The researchers of the Mobility Department develop pioneer telematic solutions in order to make human mobility safer, more comfortable and more efficient.
Traffic information is registered and processed in real time by means of the FCD technology (Floating Car Data) for the purpose of accurate forecast and calculated control of traffic flows. The use of sophisticated sensors and artificial intelligence enable the interconnection of safety and traffic relevant data to intelligent telematic solutions, which materially contribute to the increase of traffic safety.
The mobility research is, however, not limited to roads and railways, but also includes humans as pedestrians and users of public transport means. By the analysis and simulation of crowd dynamics and the processing of mobility information innovative orientation and navigation systems are created in the Mobility Department.
