Vibration protection

For a long time, the Mobility Department has had an outstanding reputation in the treatment of acoustics and vibration problems and is active in research projects for the noise- and vibration-reduced permanent ways of railway lines and in numerous railway projects for the preparation of vibration expertises for railway operators and the superior railways agency. Experimental methods in combination with calculations for vibration prognoses and for planning of vibration protection, as they are developed and used by arsenal research, become increasingly important in this context. Through its participation in standardization and process development, arsenal research supports the Austrian industry in the area of road construction and noise protection facilities and protects the Austrian interests in the area of environmental protection.

The susceptibility of constructions to vibration and body sound is examined and prediction methods for vibration of future railway lines are created.
