The R & D competence of the Mobility Department fundamentally contributes to the safety and environmental compatibility of our transport routes. RoadSTAR, the Europe-wide unique mobile laboratory for the survey of road conditions stands for the registration of road conditions on the highest technological level. The detailed risk analyses derived from the measurement data are an important basis for decision making within the maintenance planning of roads.
By well-aimed monitoring it is assured that damages to infrastructural constructions are early detected in order to ensure the full functional stability of important constructions, such as bridges.
Further more, the internationally recognized know-how of arsenal research is also used in order to protect the environment of roads and railways against shock and noise and thus to increase the environmental compatibility of transport routes.
