Solar air systems

Within the framework of the worldwide research initiative "Solar Air Systems" (IEA-Solar Heating and Cooling Programme) arsenal research has developed a method for comparative performance evaluation of solar air collectors. On the basis of this method, various types of solar air collectors are now developed and must undergo a performance assessment on behalf of solar companies.

Air collectors are particularly used for the warming up of indoor air in large-volume buildings, but also for the prewarming of air within controlled housing ventilation systems in the passive house area.
