Development of experimental methods for solar technology

By further developing testing methods for thermal solar collectors and photovoltaic modules in the laboratory and practical operation, but also by detailed analyses of innovative small and large plants with the objective of optimising and standardising components and plants the Energy Department tries to give impetus for a further development of the solar industry.

On the basis of experiments, simulations and high-performance monitoring of complex plants, a new know-how is continuously built up which is rapidly and actively passed on due to the existing relationships to the national solar industry. Various international research co-operations and partnerships contribute to the networking with European, but also non-European research work in the solar sector.
