Inverter for network supply – development and optimisation

For more than 10 years, the research enterprise deals with the issues of network compatibility and safety of decentralized energy generation. Meanwhile, the AIT Energy Department possesses one of the most efficient test rigs for photovoltaic inverter in Europe. Thereby, all operating conditions – with regard to the network as well as to the photovoltaic system – and relevant defects, such as power failures, voltage dips or over voltages can be simulated under laboratory conditions in order to test the quality and efficiency of the devices as well as to check the compliance with international safety standards.

Within the framework of international research projects, the researchers not only polish up the optimisation of the inverter by means of these measuring and test methods, but also establish recommendations for the respective EU standards and guidelines together with European partners.
