With the deregulation process in the European energy market, the electricity sector more and more changes into an open competitive market for generation, distribution and trade with electric energy. Thanks to the free access to electricity distribution networks and appropriate third party access conditions, new protagonists are entering the market.
These new players reinforce the already existing trend towards a more decentralized electric power generation, which was mainly triggered by the extension of plants on the basis of renewable energy accelerated by the new frameworks of energy policy. By this development, the existing electric power supply system faces completely new technological and organisational requirements, but also challenges as to legal framework conditions and guidelines.
Integrated into international research networks, we develop solutions for efficient realisation of decentralisation with the focus on "Power Quality and Safety“. With our services we support producers of components, planners as well as operators of plants and supply networks with regard to questions concerning the transition process towards decentralized, distributed supply networks on the basis of renewable energy carriers.
